I just finished reading Without Mercy, book five in Eric Thomson’s Sibohan Dunmoore series. I’ve been burning through these at a rate of about one per day, and they have yet to get monotonous, which I’m grateful for. Without Mercy did continue the tradition of limiting the main character’s achievements to local space rather than anything that really changes the face of the universe, but we’re starting to see larger changes in the setting, a sort of tidal shift brought about by the events of all the previous books, which is interesting. Thomson is evidently in for the long haul with this series.

My only real complaint is that there’s only one of them left. I’ve really been enjoying these spaceship adventures, and I’m going to be sad to move onto something else.
